This weekend, baby girl has been surrounded by her aunties. Watching them play with her made me think about the special bond an aunt has with their niece or nephew. It is something quite different but just as special as a parents bond.
What is an Auntie? While searching the net for an answer, I found this paragraph which I feel sums it up perfectly.
"The underlying message of an Auntie is love and acceptance. As an Auntie, I am able to share wisdom and insight without the 'shoulds and should nots' parents like to enforce. There is no shame, blame and criticism. Aunties can listen without judgment, share without restrictions and love unconditionally."
Aunties are a role model, mentor and guide.
They provide an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on.
They are a secret keeper when you cannot talk to your parents.
They are your biggest fan, and you personal cheering section.
They are a safe haven from the world and from "unreasonable" parents.
Aunties are love.
Kiera is blessed to have many aunties in her life. She will always feel loved and protected because of them. I am grateful for them, and the relationship they will have with her.
Auntie Cheryl
Auntie Mel
Auntie Nina
Auntie Carla
Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of all her aunties, but I thank all of them.
